On May 16-17, the intensive training workshop in journalism and media management “Create Media” was held by Babel media portal with the support of Souspilnist Foundation.
The coaches were Babel’s correspondents and editors Yevhen Spirin, Hlib Husyev, Oksana Kovalenko, Serhiy Pivovarov, and three invited media experts: founder of project Svoi.City Oleksandr Bilinskyi, Oleksandra Sverdlova of NDI Ukraine, and Reuters special correspondent Illya Zhehulyev.
The participants received training on fact-checking, writing news, headlines, and features, conducting interviews, as well as on fundraising, winning a grant from an international organization (and not screwing it up) and creating a profitable regional media.
