Public Broadcaster has new Supervisory Board composition

At the end of January and the beginning of February, the supervisory body’s new members for education and science, rights of minorities, protection of the interests of children and youth, the creative sphere, protection of the rights of people with special needs were elected at the conferences. All the procedures were transparent and accountable.

The parliamentary factions and groups of the ninth convocation of Parliament had also decided on their representatives to the supervisory body of UA:PBC and sent their respective proposals to the National Council. Therefore, at its meeting on February 12, the National Council took the decision to introduce 12 new representatives to the Supervisory Board:

  • Dmytro Ananyev – rights of minorities;
  • Kateryna Batenko – parliamentary group For Future Party;
  • Liudmyla Berezovska – parliamentary faction of the European Solidarity party;
  • Nataliia Harach – protection of rights of people with special needs;
  • Yevhen Hlibovytskyi – creative sphere;
  • Vyacheslav Kozak – parliamentary faction of the All-Ukrainian Union Batkivshchyna party;
  • Maksym Krechetov – parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party;
  • Lavrentiy Malazoniia – parliamentary faction of the Opposition Platform – For Life party;
  • Vadym Miskyi – protection of the interests of children and youth;
  • Svitlana Ostapa – parliamentary faction of the Holos party;
  • Halyna Tytysh – education and science;
  • Oleksiy Kharchenko – parliamentary group Dovira.

Oksana Romaniuk from the sphere of journalism and Viktor Bobyrenko from the sphere of local self-government got elected earlier. Oleksandr Pavlychenko continues to perform his duties as a Supervisory Board member replacing his colleague in the human rights sphere.

The Supervisory Board is thus nearly completely formed, consisting of 15 people, with 8 of them elected at the conferences of public unions and associations, and 7 elected by the factions and groups of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

At the beginning of April 2021, in accordance with the approved schedule, a member of the Supervisory Board for physical education and sports will be elected.

Five of the newly appointed Supervisory Board members will resume their duties, including Yevhen Hlibovytskyi, Vyacheslav Kozak, Lavrentiy Malazoniia, Vadym Miskyi, and Svitlana Ostapa. The law allows for the same person to serve as a member of the Supervisory Board no more than two consecutive terms, regardless of the duration of such terms.
