The 19th session of the Media Mobility Hub began on April 15. 17 young journalists from across the country were selected and given the opportunity to take part in a 15-day internship in Kyiv newsrooms.
Due to stricter quarantine restrictions, as last year, it was decided to hold the session in a hybrid mode. The Hub participants will arrive in Kyiv to do internships on July 7, and until then the project participants will meet online with the well-known media experts they look up to.
Andriy Hetman, editor-in-chief of ICTV’s international program “Facts”, Dmytro Tuzov, host at NV Radio, Anna Babinets, head of the independent investigative agency Slidstvo.Info, and Danylo Mokryk, investigative journalist at Bihus.Info, hard talker at Hromadske and author of the “MokRec” blog on YouTube, have already shared their experience with young journalists.
The media experts spoke about and showed their newsrooms’ “inner workings”, shared their life hacks that they had learned over the years in journalism and answered the frequently sharp questions from students off the record.
Besides, the Hub participants joined in the expert discussion “Effective ways of implementing UA:PBC’s development strategy in Ukraine” on April 30.
A series of weekly online meetings will continue until the Hub participants’ arrival in Kyiv. It is important that some students have already started internships online in the capital’s newsrooms.
The internship is organized by Souspilnist Foundation together with Internews Ukraine, and with the support of Detector Media.
