Don’t get carried away by emotional headlines and take a breath before reacting to any news. The founder of the Sens bookstore, Oleksii Erinchak, shared how he filters news, why there has never been any Russian-language literature in Sens, and why it’s useful to be bored from time to time. With this conversation, we kicked off the season of Critical Thinking Evenings at the Media Home of the Souspilnist Foundation.
“For me, it’s important that a news portal doesn’t try to provoke emotions. News should be presented in such a way that the headline matches the content of the article. One of my key rules is not to react immediately,” says Oleksii.
The project was developed and implemented by the NGO Souspilnist Foundation in cooperation with UNESCO Ukraine and with the support of the people of Japan. The project is part of UNESCO’s broader efforts to support the safety of journalists and freedom of speech in Ukraine.
