Journalism is the ability to separate truth from noise—and to help audiences make sense of the world. At our Critical Thinking Evening with Andriy Kulykov, head of the Commission on Journalism Ethics and co-founder of Hromadske Radio, we explored what quality content really means, the challenges media professionals face, and why a critical approach to information is more important than ever.
Andriy Kulykov emphasized that awareness is the best defense against disinformation. He encouraged Ukrainian media to produce more high-quality content—to shape healthier media consumption habits before it’s too late.
His top advice for young people is to seek the truth, verify facts, think independently, and avoid oversimplifying complex issues.
“Look for information in reliable media. Compare how different outlets cover the same story—what’s similar, what’s different,” the expert noted. This approach helps avoid the chaos of unchecked rumors and reduces information overload.
Big thanks to our partners for making this possible!
