Souspilnist Foundation is launching a new project, “Antithesis: Conversations with Ukraine’s leading intellectuals, authoritative experts, and public opinion leaders.”
Antithesis is safe conversations about important things: willpower, why things are transpiring the way they are, and what may happen next. Not about the war from news reports but about the war around every one of us. About the war in which we will win and which we will overcome.
The first weeks of the war bring quick news updates and operative information. But the further into it we delve, the less opportunity for speaking about it. Because it’s war. Because it’s a secret. Because we cannot stand in the way of the military and play into our enemy’s hands.
Every one of us is undergoing an incredible metamorphosis: an hour is like a short life, each air-raid alert is like death, and each cancelation is like being reborn. We don’t have enough time for thinking, only living.
We suggest you stop, take a deep breath and exhale. Talk and listen. Ask the best minds of our time a question. They have a lot to say.
We invite our conversation partners to a symbolic place. To a citadel-like site. A safe bunker, a shelter for our talks that you and the shelter’s thick walls will have witnessed.
The meetings will be taking place online on our Facebook page and the pages of our partner media KURS, Reporter, TRC RAI. Our viewers will be able to ask our conversation partners questions and leave their comments under the video.
Inviting our guests to the bunker will be Ivan Tsyperdiuk and Iryna Mykhalchuk.
Join our first conversation on Thursday, April 14. At 2 p.m., we will listen to Taras Prokhasko, a modern Ukrainian prose writer.
