Angelina Kariakina, co-founder of the Public Interest Journalism Lab, emphasized the importance of high editorial and ethical standards in journalism, such as accuracy, credibility, balance, timeliness, objectivity, and avoiding conflicts of interest. Kyrylo Iesin, digital products development manager at Suspilne, talked about launching news websites, emphasizing the need for clear definition of the problem or value of the product, setting measurable goals, identifying target audience, developing content strategy, and key metrics of effectiveness.
Oleksandra Chernova, director of Suspilne’s digital content and social media department explained the process of creating multimedia projects from scratch, from idea to distribution. She also outlined the basic composition of the team necessary for production, and the importance of media presence on various social media platforms.
Anna Pohrebna, editor-in-chief at social media editorial office at Suspilne, picked up the topic of social media. She highlighted the importance of effective caption videos and content formats for various social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
Olena Dunyak, editor of the Suspilne News YouTube channel, provided more details about YouTube tools. She emphasized speed, clarity, and lawful clickbait. She also shared tips on how to make content more appealing to the platform’s users.
Serhii Seredniak, product manager at Suspilne, touched on one of today’s most popular topics, talking about the use of artificial intelligence for news writing, citing examples from foreign news websites such as Bergens Tidende and Mimir, where AI writes and publishes news independently.
With over 15 years of experience, Bogdan Logvynenko, who founded Ukraїner eight years ago, shared his experience with participants and encouraged them to create special project components.
