October was a month of care, conversations, and recovery for our Mental Support for Media program.
We held 152 individual counseling sessions.
We also organized two webinars on topics close to every journalist’s heart:
“The Art of Imperfection: How Journalists Can Escape the Trap of Perfectionism” — about allowing ourselves to be alive, not perfect.
“Between Deadlines and Life: The Underlying Mechanisms of Emotional Burnout” — about recognizing exhaustion and regaining a sense of meaning.
In October, we also joined the Donbas Media Forum 2024, where we held the workshop “How to Get Off the Hook of Difficult Thoughts?” and talked about how to communicate with people who have experienced war trauma without the risk of retraumatization, and how to film the war while remaining resilient.
We are grateful to our partners UNESCO Ukraine and IMS (International Media Support) for their trust, support, and shared belief that caring for journalists’ mental health is part of sustainable journalism.
