Yesterday, a truly magical event took place — the traditional annual awards ceremony honoring our fellow journalists who, in times of great challenges, work under exceptional conditions and set an example within the profession. This year, the recipients of the Special Award of the Souspilnist Foundation “For Resilience and Team Care for Psychological Wellbeing” were Olena Leptuha and the newsroom team of the Kharkiv-based Nakypilo Media Group. There was a great deal of meaningful conversation, reflection on the sources of our strength, our abilities and skills — and also a little magic.
The award ceremony was hosted by Iryna Slavinska and Taras Petriv. Oleksandr Butsenko, Chair of the Foundation’s Supervisory Board, emphasized the importance of culture and media. Nataliia Lyhachova, Editor-in-Chief of Detector Media, spoke about today’s challenges. Andrii Sydorenko, Head of the MSM Program, presented the program’s results. Roman Kifliuk, National Advisor for Ukraine at International Media Support, highlighted the unique nature of journalists’ collaboration and work.
A special highlight of the evening was a performance on the tsymbaly by a rising star of the Ukrainian music scene — the Kosiv enchantress, Anna Tsiok.
The event took place at Kyiv Media Hub as part of the Mental Health Evening, which is part of the Mental Support for Media program and implemented in cooperation with the BrainCult Center and the Media Mobility Hub Alumni Association.
