This time, thirty participants from across Ukraine came to do their internships in the best Kyiv newsrooms.
During the two weeks, the participants of the 18th Media Mobility Hub will undergo an intensive, hands-on course in producing news products for convergent newsrooms, radio, TV, social networks, as well as in theoretical foundations of work of the present-day universal journalist.
On the first day of internship, September 16, there were discussions, including on media challenges. The participants met with Taras Petriv, president of Souspilnist Foundation, Anton Ivanov, project manager of USAID Media Program in Ukraine, Myroslava Tanska, journalist at 5 Channel, Dmytro Tuzov, NV Radio host, Andriy Sydorenko, special projects head at Souspilnist Foundation.
“Doing journalism is hard. You have to understand if you are ready to always be in news domain, take an evening walk with your friends keeping track of events to not miss or forget something. It is indeed important to be passionately dedicated to doing your journalistic work to not burn out”, — Myroslava Tanska.
“The truth is that there are not too many platforms where honest journalists can fulfil their potential. You have to understand that getting to work for a channel broadcasting to the whole of Ukraine, sooner or later you will deal with what is called editorial policy”, — Dmytro Tuzov.
The Hub participants will head to the newsroom offices today.
This journalism internship is made possible with the support of USAID Media Program in Ukraine, implemented by Internews, and with the help of private patrons.
