How do you report on war without betraying the truth—or endangering lives?

How do you stay close to the military while remaining a journalist, not a combatant? These questions aren’t rhetorical. They rang especially loudly during the forum’s third panel.

“Interaction between journalists and the military: unique dimensions, experiences, and risks in 2025” is about the fine line crossed daily by frontline reporters—and by those responsible for quality broadcasting in the rear.

Ivan Antypenko, a frontline reporter, reminded us: “Trust is key. You build it over time. But every new direction brings new rules—and new risks.”

Karyna Piliuhina of Ukraїner emphasized that safety is a personal responsibility: “In extreme conditions, everything depends on the team. You’re literally trusting them with your life.”

Yehor Lohinov shared his experience of filming and the risks of working on the front line: “The most important thing is to listen carefully to the military. There are no better guides in this work”

This conversation isn’t just about the challenges of 2025. It’s about trust—on the front line, on air, in the newsroom, and in the hearts of those who listen.
