At the “Wartime Media Challenges 2025” forum, we delved into what often remains behind the scenes of news and deadlines—mental health, personal needs, and internal resources. Participants took part in the psychological simulation game InsideNews—no fake news or clickbait. Just an honest, mindful dialogue with oneself.
It was a unique space to explore your “internal newsroom”: how it responds to crisis, what happens under stress, and how to find strategies for care—not merely survival.
All designed to equip journalists with practical tools for managing stress and strengthening psychological resilience
Moderating the session were those who know how to speak about difficult topics with gentleness and meaning: Nataliia Vysiatytska, a CBT psychotherapist and Mental Support for Media specialist, and Ruslan Kovalyk, a crisis psychologist and negotiator with the National Police. This wasn’t a lecture, but an experience. Not analysis, but observation. Not another item on the agenda, but a gift to yourself.
This format fosters a support community where it’s important to speak honestly about how we really are. And through this practical, interactive approach, each participant can take away personal well-being strategies that will stay with them well beyond the forum. Because journalism starts with the person. And it’s time to take care of that person.
