Experienced media expert Olha Huzhva, founder of the Skhid media center, conducted a workshop on the security aspects of working in a war zone and risk assessment. Olha explained the dangers that journalists can encounter when working on the front lines, how to act in critical situations, and emphasized, “Being a journalist today is not just a profession but a responsible mission.”
Francis Farrell, a journalist and photographer for The Kyiv Independent, works with an international audience every day and shares the truth about Ukraine with the world. Francis shared insights into the specifics of foreign readers and what aspects should be emphasized to write content that will have a guaranteed impact.
Andrii Sydorenko, co-founder of the Mental Support for Media program, shared information about this opportunity with our participants. He explained the program’s components, how to apply, and all the other mental health support opportunities it offers.
A special guest at the intensive training session was Andrii Kulykov, a journalist and radio host from Hromadske Radio. An incredibly experienced journalist, he shared the secrets of journalism with the participants, including the challenges that media professionals might face in the future, and provided a powerful motivational boost for their work.
At the conclusion, today’s star-studded lineup of invited coaches awarded certificates for participation and successful mastery of skills at the School.
