In 2024, Russia will be influencing elections worldwide.
In waging a genocidal war and attempting to alter the global order, the Putin regime weaponizes information and manipulates human emotions and sentiments. Russian special services are increasingly utilizing false narrative factories, fabricated realities, opinion leaders, and artificial intelligence in their special operations. We may face a tsunami of falsified information and so-called “synthetic” content, ranging from massive leaks, sophisticated voice cloning, to counterfeit websites.
How do we counter the Russian disinformation machine? We will discuss this during the online discussion “New dimensions of Russian propaganda in global media and social networks. Practical recommendations on how to resist Russian disinformation in 2024,” which will be held by Souspilnist Foundation on January 30 at 12:00, with the support of Internews-Ukraine, Detector Media, and the Independent Media Council.
