The pysanka is more than just a pattern—it holds encoded warmth. And that warmth filled the space during our latest Mental Health Evening—a pysanka-making workshop held as part of the Mental Support for Media program. Gathered in a circle of our own, with hot tea in hand and guided by a caring master artist, we created more than just Easter symbols—we created moments of quiet, comfort, and inner grounding.
In Ukrainian tradition, pysanky were believed to offer protection so strong that people would bury them under their doorsteps—as shields for the household. Every egg carries more than a design—it carries a worldview and a hope.
Shared traditions aren’t just about the past. They’re about the resilience we build— together, here and now.
